Here's a site with loads of information on different types of back pain and their causes, as well as a wealth of information on what to do about it. The thing I like most is Dean Moyer's philosophy of being able to rebuild and retrain your back. For most back pain, there is usually hope. All is not lost. Contrary to other "miracle cures" that you see floating around the internet, Dean Moyer seems to have the right idea. It's not about quick "cures", but about "the" cure. Quick "cures" treat the symptoms, but Dean believes that even though there will be effort involved, Rebuilding Your Back will give longer lasting, more satisfying results. Although I have not read Rebuilding Your Back, I for one struggle with lower back pain, and have tried the "quick fixes" and am now ready to start rebuilding my back. I would recommend at least taking a look at some of the information on Dean Moyer's site as I do.
Exerpt from his site:
Hey, it's not rocket science. If bad posture -- along with a few injuries -- has taken its toll and left you with a bad back then the answer is to begin taking steps to reverse the process.
Your spine is made up of muscles, bones, discs and ligaments and you don't need a Phd. to understand it. The only solution to a bad back (or neck) is to strengthen and recondition those same muscles, discs and ligaments.
You can waste your time and money
on dozens of doctors, treatment programs,
operations and pain relief products and
all you'll be doing is wasting your time and
money. If you want to correct your bad back
and eliminate the back pain for good...
whether caused by bad posture or not...
there is only one solution.
Rebuild your back.
