I am currently an associate member of the Piano Technician's Guild, Southwest Missouri Chapter, and regularly attend their monthly meetings. I also try to keep up-to-date with current piano technology information, practices, and methods by attending special training such as the PTG National Convention, PTG chapter technicals, and by reading PTG journals, online articles, and participating in piano forums, and the like. I am also currently studying to complete the final of 3 rigorous exams required to be a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) with the Piano Technician's Guild. I passed the written exam during the 2011 National Convention in Kansas City, and passed the technical exam March 15, 2014.
I am very active in my local church. I attended the Waynesville Church of the Nazarene from 2001 to 2015 which my father helped start in 1977. I have served many years as a church board member. I have also served as Sunday School Superintendent, Church Board Secretary, and served several years on staff as a part-time Lay Minister of Music. I also served as the webmaster for the church's website during that time. After moving to Strafford my family and I joined the Strafford Church of the Nazarene, and although we miss our friends in Waynesville, we are growing to love serving with our new church family here. I enjoy playing bass guitar, keyboard, and trumpet.
I am a Missouri Certified K-6 grade teacher, however, I'm not currently teaching so that I can focus on my piano business. I taught 5th-6th grade Science at Laquey Middle School from 2003-2008, and also worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Thayer Elementary School at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. from 2009-2010.
One of the joys of servicing pianos is the opportunity to meet new people and make many new friends. I look forward to meeting you and hope I can be of service to you in the near future.
